Solution-

Given that,

ΔABC ~ ΔDEF.

If two triangles are similar, then the ratio of the corresponding sides must be same.

So,

[tex]\dfrac{AB}{DE}=\dfrac{BC}{EF}=\dfrac{AC}{DF}[/tex]

Also given that,

AB = 35

DE = 5

BC = 49

EF = x

Putting the values,

[tex]\Rightarrow \dfrac{35}{5}=\dfrac{42}{x}[/tex]

[tex]\Rightarrow x=\dfrac{42\times 5}{35}=6[/tex]
