Backstory

I grew up in the Muggle world from birth, and didn't see any signs of magic in my blood until the age of 21! So Professor McGonagall was very considerate given my situation, allowing me to learn at Hogwarts as a 'mature' student. It can feel a bit embarrassing being in classes with 13-year-olds, but we're all in the same boat, learning all at the same level, for skills that we're all meant to have as witches and wizards. As for my education in the Muggle world, I went to Muggle university studying popular music as a singer. In a way, I'm relieved I chose music, because it's a language anyone can understand and be engaged in, and that's another kind of magic in itself, so I don't think I've missed out at all.
