A Magical Start to the New Year
Happy New Year from the staff of Hogwarts is Here to all of you! Check out the article for some updates regarding the site, the Magical Studies Groups, and most exciting of all: the launch of our official Discord server!
Another year has gone by at Hogwarts is Here and the staff bids all of you welcome to 2025!
Firstly, the Mythology course has officially closed and is no longer available in the course directory. We thank each and every one of you who took part in the class in its final weeks. If you still happen to still see Mythology under “My Classes,” do not be alarmed. It will remain there as nobody has been unenrolled from the course and we have no plans to do so.
We would also like to remind you that there are a number of professorship vacancies available (in Ancient Runes, Care of Magical Creatures, and Muggle Studies). Please do apply if this is something of interest to you! Application forms can be found via the Volunteer tab of the menu. If you have any questions about the hiring process or what the role entails, please reach out to Headmistress Oshiro or check out this FAQ.
An update on the Magical Studies Groups - after a lot of thought, we have decided to close down the on-site Groups due to low participation and engagement. We know this is likely disappointing to hear for those of you who were actively participating in them, and we wish they had been more of a success. Those who were assigned to the Discord study groups will be unaffected, as those will still be going ahead as planned. If you were in an on-site Group and would love to continue your studies with your peers, you are absolutely welcome to join in on Discord!
Finally, things are brewing in the castle and the Headmistress has been in various talks with the Department of Magical Education at the Ministry of Magic. While nothing has been determined yet, we hope to have everything sorted out within the next few months, so please bear with us if things are a bit slower than normal until then. In the meantime, feel free to join the official HiH Discord! Previously, it was only open to those who signed up for the Magical Studies Groups, but after a few months of successful testing, we are opening it up to everyone on site. Keep in mind that you must be at least 13 years of age to join. Come mingle with your fellow students as well as the professors and their PAs!
