On Barlow Av in a small cottage lived a girl named Madeline Palmer who had pretty copper hair and whitish blue eyes . Madeline was adopted from Britain and now lives with the Hudson family.
“ Mum?” yelled Madeline from her room on the second floor.
“ what?” said Mrs. Hudson in a loud voice. Who now was walking up the stairs.
“ I got a letter!” Madeline said. who ran to her mum and threw the letter into her hands.
“ Oh wow...um who sent this?” asked Mrs. Hudson
“ Oh I don’t know it just kinda came from my window,” Madeline said. with a big smile on her face
“ um, okay,” Said Mrs. Hudson who gave a weird grin Then opened the letter and read:
Dear Miss Palmer,
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted into Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. Please find an enclosed list of all necessary books and equipment listed down below.
Again we are happy to have you at Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry
You will need to get: Black robes, a wand, Mythical creatures by: Nick Folster, Potions,potions by: Kate Gaser, Magical plant that grows in the Bahamas by: Uni Greengrass. . You will also need an animal such as: Frog,Owl, or cat.
Mrs. Hudson looked as if she almost got shot, and Madeline looked as if she could jump to the moon.
“Well where do you get this stuff?” asked Mrs. Hudson
Then there was a knock on the door. They walked down to find Mr. Hudson who just opened the door. A small human walked in and went straight to Madeline, and handed her a paper
“ Um you-
Mr. Hudson was cut off by the small man when he pulled out a wand and whispered "optemonim" a bright neon yellow came from the wand and letters appeared on the paper Madeline read: You must go to Diagon Alley the enterantrance is at the leaky cauldron in London.
“ Wait in London!” Exclaimed Mrs Hudson
“ Um Marsha?” asked Mr. Hudson
“ You have a witch in your family!” said the tiny man
“ I’m a what?” Madeline said. in a loud voice so everyone could hear her because she was told she talked quietly.
“ Oh a witch your father Lucas was a wizard and your mother Faith was a muggle. They named you Leila but Mr. and Mrs Hudson renamed you,” said the tiny man.
“ what's a muggle and My name was Leila ?” asked Madeline
“ well your parents are Muggles so non magic, and yes your name would have been Leila only if your parents didn’t die battling… never mind ,” said the tiny man “ Now Mr. Hudson and Mrs. Hudson Will you be taking her or will I?
Mr. and Mrs. Hudson walked into a different room and talked for no longer than forty-five minutes but to Madeline it felt like hours. Madeline knew that she was adopted, so it was no surprise but when she found out that her name was Leila not Madeline she considered changing it back to Leila in the Forty-five minutes she decided to stick with Madeline.
Then her parents walked in and said, “ You can take her,” Madeline felt her face turned as red as her hair.
“ Well Madeline fallow me,” said the tiny man
Madeline walked out of the door without looking back she heard her mum whisper to her Father...I hope she’s okay. Madeline and the tiny man walked over to a bus stop and out of nowhere a motorcycle with a sidecar appeared.
“ Hop in!” said the tiny man
“ Okay… and what should I call you?’’ asked Madeline climbing into the sidecar
“ Oh me call me Ira,” said Ira handing Madeline a helmet
“ Okay,” Madeline said. putting on the helmet.
Ira turned the motorcycle on and a red glow shone around them. Next thing Madeline knew They were at the entrance to an old pub named the Leaky cauldron.
“ how… did- Madeline tried to speak but the words didn’t form in her mouth.
“ no time just walk and keep your head down,” said Ira
“ why,” asked Madeline
“ Um… let’s just say your parents were really hated,” said Ira pushing Madelinds head down. Right as they walked in the room, it smelled of smoke, beer, and burnt something. Madeline couldn't figure out what the burnt smell was but all was calm till Ira was noticed. Everyone was crowding and pushing just to see him and the new kid he was escorting to Diagon Alley.
“ What is the matter!” screamed Madeline accidently looking up.
the room fell quiet, a man who looked to be in his thirties broke the silence.
“ It’s the Palmers daughter,” whispered the man. Everyone stared at her in awe, one man even started clapping. the room filled with whispering then Someone said “ You… you died '' Soon after a couple of minutes Ira grabbed Madelines hand and pulled her out of the crowd, Madeline still struck with shock. After They made it out the door Ira pushed Madeline into a shop where She tripped and knocked into a boy around her age.
“ I’m so sorry,”Madeline said. who quickly shot up and found Ira then yelled “ you said my parents were hated!” the shop quickly cleared out and those few that remain stayed quiet.
“ I'm sorry,” Madeline said.
“ It’s fine… I’ll be back,” said Ira walking away.
The boy who Madeline fell into came up to her and said “ Wow you shor made a scene” Madeline felt bad and as if she could fall to the ground and cry.
“ Oh I’m Nicolas Crystal, and that’s my brother Elijah Crystal and there's my sister
Violet Crystal ,” said Nicolas pointing to a teenager and a young girl. Nicolas had dark brown hair and green eyes.
“ Oh Madenline Palmer , ‘Madeline said.
“ Is this your first year at Hogwarts?” asked Nicolas
“ Um ya,” Madeline said.
“ Cool me too,” said Nocolas
“ Ok-
“ Well my moms here so bye!” said Nicolas walking backwards.
Ira came back with a pile of books and a box that read: New Black robes.
“ Now off to get a wand,” said Ira
“ Okay,” Madeline said.
They hurried over to a shop and Ira told Madeline he would be outside waiting for her. Madeline walked in and went to the front counter where she met an old man who smiled. Then stared at her for a moment. The man went into a back room and grabbed a box Then handed the box to Madeline .
“ Open it,” said the man
“ Well okay,” Madeline said.
She opened the box, picked up the wand, waved it around and in the background a potted plant broke. The man grabbed the wand then went and grabbed two more boxes.
“ Try these,” said the man
“ Fine,” Madeline said.
the first wand shattered the back window the second wand right as she touched it the room filled with the voice of an opera singer and a golden light filled the room.
“ That's the one,” said the man
“ Okay,” Madeline said. who put the wand back into her box. Madeline walked out to find Ira talking with another family. Madeline walked over where Ira introduced her to a girl named Finley hales. Finley had brown hair and hazel . And her brother who was going into his second year at Hogwarts his name is Simon Hales. Finley ’s hands were full of her stuff. Madeline and Finley stared at each other, till Finley said…” Do I know you?”
“ I don’t think so,” Madeline said.
“ Oh well um do you want to sit next to each other on the train?” asked Finley
“ Train?” asked Madeline
“ Ya Hogwarts Express on platform 9 ¾,” Finley said. confused
“ Oh?” Madeline said.
“ ya! So…?” asked Finley
“ Okay,” Madeline said.
Madeline smiled at Finley and They high five or tried to at least when Finley 's mom had to go. Ira surprised Madeline with a baby owl.
“ I’ll name it Baris,”Madeline said.
“ Baris?” asked Ira
“ Ya!” Madeline said.
“ Okay,” said Ira shrugging “ I Liked the name Ira jr,”
“Um no,”
The next day Madeline met up with Finley but ran into Nicolas who was with some girl named Sage Alder. Sage had blond hair and grey eyes she was wearing overalls and a hat. After Madeline got to a brick wall.Madeline watched two kids run and pass through the wall no problem but she was a first year Then a boy accidentally ran into Madeline.
“ Oh sorry!” said the boy who turned around “ Do you need help?” Madeline nodded so he grabbed her cart and pushed it through then came back and held her hand and ran through. Madeline kept her eyes closed. Then opened them to find a huge train she saw Finley at a window seat waving at her. Madeline hadn’t noticed the boy who helped her disappear, she looked around Then shrugged and walked on the train and sat next to Finley .
“ who was that?” asked Finley
“ I don’t know,” Madeline said.
“ what! You can’t hold hands and not know him!” Finley said.
“ He held my hand?” asked Madeline
“ uh ya,” Finley said.
“ Oh,” Madeline said.
They waited on the train till someone told them to change into their robes. After They changed the train stopped and They got off.
