Dragonology: Amongst The Beasts
This comprehensive guide to dragonology tells of the experiences of Professor Fatima Snizzleby, currently a teacher at Al-Akazam Academy for Magic in Egypt, who has extensive experience with field work and dragon observation. This current edition was translated by Catalina Walnut, as the Professor is far too busy these days to rewrite entire books in different languages, whether she knows them or not. Professor Snizzleby graduated from Hogwarts with top grades, going on to gain a degree in dragonology at the London Institute for Magizoology. She gained her masters at the same and went on to apprentice with the now deceased Dr. Habib Hassan, the well known dragonologist who according to many tales once beat off a Swedish Short-Snout with nothing but an invisbility cloak and his left shoe. This book is dedicated to him.

Introduction
Chapter 1
Since the advent of my apprenticeship at al-Taneen dragon reservation in an undisclosed location in the North African desert, it has been my personal pleasure to visit and consult with many reservationists worldwide, as well as to consult with Care of Magical Creature's professors in order to make the teaching of their subject more authentic in the case that they would not want to risk the safety of their limbs. For this reason, I decided in the summer of 2005 whilst observing the breeding efforts on the part of a particularly grumpy pair of Hungarian Horntails, that I should and would write a short tome on my time observing these magnificent beasts. Whilst my initial efforts to write at the observation camps were thwarted by the ignis draco of this particular mating pair, I did eventually manage to get some of my thoughts down with the use of a partcularly potent anti-inflammatory charm upon my writing materials, although this charm had less potency when applied to my eyebrows.
So, after many weekends with my nose pressed to paper, I present my first comprehensive book on the discipline of Dragonology, that most ancient and noble discipline related to one of our fellow magical creatures here on earth. With the knowledge I learnt whilst attending first Hogwarts, the London Insititute for Magizoology and finally from my apprencticeship with some of the best dragon conversvationists of our age at al-Taneen, as well as my own experience travelling and camping alongside and in the midst of many reserves, I hope I can provide a complete and comprehensive guide to those most magnificent, wonderful and curious beasts we call dragons.
