Chapter 1
It all started with a baby.
She was sweet, calm, and beautiful. Linnie Kerris Jacoby was loved by her parents and big brothers as no other girl could be. She grew up to be a gentle, willowy darling, home-schooled and a little naive.
When she started ninth grade, her mother sent her to public school with her brothers, because Linnie was already above her mother's education level.
Everywhere she looked, she saw big upperclassmen, couples kissing, students smoking. It was nothing like the haven she knew at home. So she kept her head down and didn't say anything, hoping she'd be viewed as ugly and worthless and wouldn't have to talk to anybody.
But it was not to be. Soon, she had the nickname 'Little Beauty' and boys following her everywhere. Her brothers weren't worried, but she had a feeling nothing would turn out right.
And one day, she woke up from a nightmare and realized it wasn't a nightmare. It was reality.
The boys weren't annoying admirers anymore. They were vicious abusers. And her brothers wouldn't believe her. Of course, it was their best friends, why would they?
When her mom finally pulled her out of the school; finally believed her cries for help, she was already scarred beyond belief. In more ways than one.
Because it all ended with a baby.
