Chapter 2
I stand there in the snow. Freezing winter air brushing my face. I snuggle my nose into his neck. He's warm. I'm standing in the snow hugging my boyfriend. Huh, I must look like an idiot! I start to chuckle at this thought.
"What?" Harry asked me.
"Nothing. Just thinking about how we must look really weird standing in the freezing cold." I laughed.
"Oh, alright! We can go inside now." He said chuckling. He shifts his position to where we have our arms around each others' middles. He lays his head on my shoulder and I rest mine on top of his head. We head in. I really don't want to do this, Draco thought. Actually, he had been thinking that for a while now, he even told Harry the exact same thing the other day. They had spent their last Christmas at my house. Which wasn't exactly a piece of cake either. My mother was fine with it I think. She said she just wanted me to be happy. My father on the other hand. Eeek. That was bad. This year we were spending it with Harry's family. No, not with the Dursleys. Harry hadn't spoken to them since his seventh year. No, we were spending Christmas with the Weasleys. Which wouldn't have been so bad if Ronald wasn't there. Now, I don't have anything against the Weasleys anymore, but Ronald strongly disagrees with me and Harry's decision to be a thing. And it's always awkward with Ginny around, seeing as how Harry had dumped her for me. Harry's very reassuring though. That hug just a moment ago? Yeah, that was him trying to soothe me. Which, I mean, so cute! But still. We walked around the house to the front door of the Burrow. It was actually a pretty charming home now that I really looked at it. Harry glanced over to me and offered a comforting smile. I returned it and together we knocked on the door.
Mr. Weasley answered the door with a welcoming smile. Which honestly surprised me since he despised my father. I suspected Mrs. Weasley threatened all of them previous to our arrival.
"Harry!" Mr. Weasley hollered.
"Hello, Mr. Weasley."
"Mr. Malfoy." Mr. Weasley said flatly.
"Mr. Weasley." I greeted with the same dullness.
"Oh, could you boys get along for once! Harry dear! How wonderful to see you!" Mrs. Weasley pushed through to hug Harry. "Oh, you come here too, Draco!" She pulled me in for a hug that lasted quite some time. Once she finally released me, she motioned inside.
"Well, don't just stand there! You'll freeze to death!" Mrs. Weasley called from behind her. Harry grasped reached for my hand and held it tightly as we when inside.
We maneuvered our way to the kitchen where Hermione, Ron, Ginny, George, and Percy were seated at the table.
"Harry, Draco!" Hermione exclaimed excitedly. Wow, I thought, she actually seems excited to see me. Everyone made their way up to greet us. Everyone except for Ronald.
"Draco, I'm so glad to see you again!" Hermione greeted.
"Er-Um. Thanks. You too." I sputtered back. I was not expecting that.
"oh my goooosh, Harry!" Hermione whispered into Harry's ear, " You two are sooo cute!" This made me smile.
"Hello, boys," Ginny greeted.
"Hello, Potter. Malfoy." Percy wasn't exactly what you'd call friendly these days.
"Hello, Mates!" George came up to shake Harry's hand.
"How are you doing?" I asked. I immediately realized the mistake I had made.
"As well as can be! Just continuing the legacy, I guess." This answer shocked me. I figured he'd start sobbing or something.
"Oh, now do be polite, Ronald. Come say hi." Hermione called. Ronald stood and walked over to where everyone was standing. He held Hermione by the waist as they stood there. The two of them were dating (and still are).
"'Ello, mate." He offered his free hand to Harry, "How have things been?" Harry shook his hand then stepped back. He took his hand placed it around my waist.
"Pretty good, Ron," Harry replied while looking into my eyes. (I know it was mostly for show but, oh boy, that just about got me!) The room when quiet. Harry and Ronald had been friends since their first year but ever since Harry and I started dating the two of them had been in a silent feud. The gesture Harry just made only stirred the pot. Ronald turned Hermione's head to go in for a kiss to show that he too was happy.
"Oh, dear God no!" Hermione leapt from his grasp. "I do not want to be apart of your guys' mess again! Remember fourth year? Yeah, no. Not happening." Hermione stepped away from Ronald. To shove the knife a little deeper, Harry turned to me and kissed me. It was a peck but slow enough for everyone to... enjoy the spectacle. Ronald quickly left the room. Hermione rolled her eyes.
"Sorry, everyone. Someones being a prat." She said the last part loud enough for Ronald to here, then left to follow him.
"Anyone want some pie?" Mrs. Weasley said cheerily.
"What?" Harry asked me.
"Nothing. Just thinking about how we must look really weird standing in the freezing cold." I laughed.
