Once Kye and I knew we had magical powers, we decided that we would try to hide it from our parents, who were in fact, very against magic of any sort. So, we hid our powers as much as we could. But, by our seventh birthday, we could no longer hide our magical abilities. We had to tell our parents. We both knew that telling them this one little detail could land us in an orphanage, but we weren't able to hide our powers anymore, and they would find out sooner or later. When we told them, they went pale, like they had seen a ghost. They told us to go to our rooms and wait. We obeyed and went to our rooms, or so they thought. What we really did was stood just behind the door so that we could hear bits and pieces of what they were saying.

"Magic------- bad--------orphanage..." That was all we needed to hear. We went to our rooms and packed the necessities, clothes, pajamas, socks, etc. We pretended to go to sleep early and when we knew our parents were asleep (they were super heavy sleepers), we suck into their room and stole just enough money for food, water, and a place to sleep for at least two nights.. We left that night and left a note telling them almost nothing but the fact that we overheard their conversation and we weren't planing on coming back anytime soon. That night we slept in a cheap hotel and the next day would be the start of a whole new life for us.
