For the first three or four years of our life everything was normal except for the fact that we never get enough food. Once our fourth birthday came Kye and I started to to notice that when we were mad or sad (which was almost always), weird things happend. For example, if one of us got mad at the other for something, one would get hurt. Not bad. Usually just enough to make it seem like it wasn't just a coincidence. Then things started to get even weirder. We were outside gardening one day and we were both mad at each other, but all of a sudden, out nowhere, a swarm of hornets came towards us. They didn't try to sting us though. They just kinda hovered around us like there was some sort of magical barrier that they couldn't get through. Then it hit me. Magic. I heard stories about wizards and witches, and in all of them they started showing magical signs around age five or six. There was no doubt. Kye was a wizard and I was a witch.
