Severus Snape, aged 38, was killed by the snake
Nagini upon orders of the Dark Lord Voldermort during the Battle of Hogwarts.
Though allegiances were often questioned, Snape showed himself to be a true
ally of Albus Dumbledore and good wizards everywhere. If not for Snape, who was
the former Potions Master, Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher and Headmaster
at Hogwarts, many more young witches and wizards might have died during the
Second Wizarding War. Though he has no known living relatives, Snape's portrait
remains in the halls of Hogwarts so that he may forever be part of the school's
family and recognized for his heroic deeds.
