- mixture: multiple substances which are mixed together with no reaction taking place
- heterogeneous: many different substances and components combined together in which you can identify each individual substance
- ex of heterogeneous is trail mix
- homogeneous: when you can't see parts of the mixture but those parts can still be pulled apart
- ex of homogeneous is salt water
- compound is a substance that occurs as a result of a chemical reaction of some sort between different substances
- pure compound = homogeneous
- potion is a mixture of compounds
- solution; type of mixture
