These are my notes. I have a written copy in my dorms if you would like more info. It goes over the introductions and each notes. I will do one for every year I am in Hogwarts, I will also write down notes about reading material. If you have any questions, ask me. -Magnolia Pierce, A Ravenclaw first year

Charms Lesson 3

Chapter 4
- wandless magic (takes longer to learn) - don't learn until seventh year
- different people have different effects on wands
- different woods have different properties
- defining a wand? use length, flexibility, wood, and core
- usually nine to fourteen inches long (shorter means character lacking, larger means larger physical physique)
- flexibility = adapbtability (flexible - pliant, spongy, springy, supple whippy, willowy, or yeilding) (rigid - firm, resistant, stiff, unbending, unpliable, unyeilding)
- misconception of wands containing more than one wood (ONLY ONE WOOD)
- core is made out of some part of a magical being (ex: unicorn tail hair, dragon heartstring, and phoenix feathers)
- no more than one core per wand
- almost all spells that require a wand, require movement
- point in intended direction
- can do magic in head, takes years of practice
- MEMORIZE
