This was the worst day ever. Even worse than the day I passed out in class.  The first spell went fine. It was easy enough and the roar of the children hadn't started to grow yet. We practiced the severing charm on parchment paper we had lying around. I made the v-shape with my and and flicked it upwards, while saying the spell of course. Diffindo. The rip split the paper vertically. I was proud of my doing.

I looked up to hear the classroom roar growing. More people were reciting and more people were gossipping. I could feel my heart beat picking up as the chatter echoed in my mind. I closed my eyes, trying to stop the voices and calm my heart. Suddenly, someone was tapping my desk and the room was silent. It was my teacher. She asked me to perform the other spell. I pointed my wand back at the parchment, but could feel every eye watching me in the classroom. My head was still pounding. I slowly performed the wand actions and said the words. But, I was nervous and my pronunciations were off. My wand seemed to puff smoke and the spell failed. The class erupted in laughter.

I ran out of the class room. I skipped around the most used hallways, determined to stay away from the horrible people in this school. I saw my friend David, but only for a second. I didn't want him to see the tears streaming down my face. I would improve, but right now, I just wanted to disappear.
