Chapter 2
A group of Ravenclaw and Gryffindors walk to the edge of the Forbidden Forest. Hagrid waited there to begin his first Care of Magical Creatures class of the year. Among the students going to Hagrid's Hut are Henry Ridgeback, Celestia Granger, Charlotte Wayland, and Rocky Marchbanks.
"What do you think Hagrid will teach us about today?", Henry said.
"Maybe dragons?", Charlotte suggested with a slight smile.
"Seriously Charlotte? He wouldn't do that!", replied Celestia with a grin.
"Not yet!", said Rocky. They all laughed at the thought of Hagrid letting them ride a fully grown Ukrainian Ironbelly.
As everyone came to the hut, Hagrid smiled and gently stroked the creature in his hands
"Does anyone know what teh creature I'm holdin' is?", Hagrid said to the class. A few people rose their hands, including Henry. "Henry?"
"That is a Niffler, sir. It is a mammal that has a love for shiny objects," Henry said.
"Good job, Henry. 10 points to Ravenclaw! Now, this is a creature with a long snout and a pouch that can hold many objects. As Mr. Ridgeback said, Nifflers have a love fer shiny things. Fer example, yer Niffler may wreck yer house in search of jewelry. I do not recommend havin' a Niffler as a pet. However, this one is a baby, so it won't have an obsession with shiny objects. "
"Whoever can answer this question about Nifflers will get this baby one! Now, what disease threatens only Nifflers?"
Everyone thought, but Henry's hand shot up once more. "Yes. Henry.", said Hagrid with great enthusiasm.
"Niffitis, Hagrid. It is a disease that makes a Niffler unable to detect gold."
"Good job, Henry! Here ya go!"
Hagrid handed him a little black and white Niffler who was curled up into a ball, sleeping.
"Hmmm... I think I'll name you... I don't know what to name you, little guy!"
"Well, he looks like an Oreo. Call him Oreo!", said Charlotte.
"Oreo... that's a good name! Hi there Oreo."
As Hagrid continued his lesson, Oreo stayed curled up, sleeping, with not a worry in the world.
