Mercury!
The planet closets to the sun. Thought to be void of water until scientist found ice at the northern pole. This part is shielded from the sun.
Covered in craters like Earth's moon.
Largest crater is Caloris Basin
A very hot planet.
There are non-active volcanoes on Mercury.
Mercury is named for the Roman god of thievery, commerce, and travel.
In Greek is was Hermes, for speed, because of the speed the planet orbited.
Easy planet to see from Earth, even without a telescope.
Only 2 space probes have been to the planet. It is hard to reach due to velocity and the change required to actually land.
