Chapter 13

The Class A Transfiguration Spell- the core foundation to magical practices of studying Transfiguration.

4 spells are classified as Class A, Avifors, Draconifors, Snufflifors, Fera Verto

Avifors

  • the most primal of all spells
  • best place to start
  • most dangerous
    • most drastic effects when backfiring

Wand Movement

  • light twirl above the object before a downward flick
  • twirl represents grace of a bird and it twirling in the sky
  • downward flick is symbolic of birds wings
  • the twirl is synced with the concentration of the witch/wizard and used to open a magical field i the air around the object. Upon opening, the wand gets a gentle blue outline, almost indistinguishable.
  • the downward flick with the incantation causes the magic to occur
  • Hold the wand loosely and allow it to move in the hand. When doing the twirling, make sure to twist the wrist with the wand. Enunciate Avifors (uh-vee-FOURS) confidently before flicking downward.
  • During the first time doing the spell, when the blue light appears, concentration will waiver and spell will fizzle.

Avifors when cast upon a bird statue, a fog encases the object and brings it to life. When cast into the air, a swirling light then a bird with appear and fade. This is the reason Avis and Avifors is confused.

Avis- a conjuration spell that resembles birds and perform deeds of their master.

Avifors - a transfiguration spell that changes a statue to a bird that can perform simple tasks or and individual deed.

Neither spell creates life. Review Gamps law.

Different from real birds in that they have no free will, do not eat, and fade/cease to exist after creator's death.
