A Flobberworm's Magical Uses

Chapter 3
The flobberworm has simple magic, which is mostly due to the segments in their body. As I stated earlier, they have seven segments. Seven is proven to be a very magical number, although the exact reason is unclear.
One display of magic is its affinity towards magic. It can sense magic, which is proven by the fact that they always prefer mundane plants over magical ones. Due to their low consciousness, they can be manipulated by magic. They are the only magical creature that can be summoned with the Summoning Charm.
This is a bit of an unknown fact, but the mucus that flobberworms produce is magical. Recent studies show that flobberworm mucus has the same effect as Murtlap Essence, which heals minor cuts and scratches. Another more common use of the mucus is in potions. The Wiggenweld Potion, a potion that increases one's strength and energy, is a strong example of this. The mucus is used by several potioneers as a thickener, because the mucus has a thick consistency. Even Hogwarts uses flobberworm mucus to spread on the attic ceilings to strengthen and protect the ceilings from termites and Chizpurfles.
