A centaur is half horse and half human. Centaurs are gifted with healing powers and being able to read the stars.
Centaurs are not very liked creatures at the ministry of magic, and wizards are not very liked by centaurs.

Their primary weapons (since they have no magic) are bows & arrows. Centaurs don’t like being close humans, and if they feel like you’re threatening them, they won’t mind using their weapons.

If a human needs help, asking a centaur would only be a waste of time. Centaurs believe I’m faith so much that they won’t even help people in need. If you’re lucky, there is one centaur that wants to help. Centaurs are very much like humans, they can feel too. And if someone needs help, atleast one centaur will feel guilt for not helping, and therefor help you.

Centaurs are very territorial creatures, and if you’re wandering around on their territory, they’ll most likely attack, since you are a human.

Many may think centaurs are half breed, but actually they are their own kind.
