Great Dictators Of The Wizarding Sort

A book about the great dictators that may or may not have been wizards. The ones who remembered for all time for their success in dictating and for hostile takeovers and the like. This book could function as a tutorial or chronicle, a history or walk-through. It will be what you want it to be, so come with me as I explore the great minds of Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, and Castro. Let's go!

The Mind Of Hitler

Chapter 2

So, I'm sure you're all familiar with the famous - or should I say infamous -  Adolf Hitler. You know, the one infamous for the holocaust, the genocide of Jews? Well, the documentation of his association with the wizarding world is lack-luster at least. So, this book must bring together that information as well as provide some insight onto it.

Well, to begin with, Hitler began Voldemort's reign. It's not well-known but it is a fact that many of Voldemort's methods came straight from Hitler, as well as many of the other dictators in this book, however, the main inspiration was Hitler. So obviously, for most wizards, that association, even entirely outside the context of Hitler, is enough to condemn a person. But what you may not have known is that Hitler was a wizard himself. He was not very skilled, not even capable of a single of the unforgivable curses and in fact very resentful of that fact.

A large reason for his hatred and condemnation of the Jews was in fact because of his time spent here, at Hogwarts. No, he did not spend time at Durmstrang despite its Slavic roots and focus on the dark arts. He was a brilliant mind, though not a particularly skilled one, as mentioned before. The rigorous routine of Durmstrang wouldn't have been very supportive of thought as Hogwarts is. His house is unfortunately unknown, though it's speculated to be Ravenclaw. Yes, surprising, I know. Despite Slytherin's reputation, really it's just Voldemort that came from that house as well as many - not all - of his deatheaters. It's a long perpetuated rumor that Slytherin is the only house to create evil wizards. And a false one.

So, about the jews, he was good friends with a Jewish kid here at Hogwarts during his first year. The Jewish child - whose name is in fact unknown - was extremely skilled however and during his third year left Hitler for the popular group. Yes, Hitler was the lame kid in his class. The one that everybody hated for his lack of skill despite his devious and genius brain. So, what was there to do? Well, he must show them of course. And so, during his fourth year, after extensive preparation, Hitler joined the tri-wizard tournament. Yes, Hitler competed. And he did quite well. Despite his lack of ability with magic, he was able to rally a following to solve the puzzles in between the challenges essentially for him and came out first until the very last challenge.

The Jewish kid, of course as any of you might expect, was a bit upset at his former friend's success. It should have been him, the capable young Jewish kid who competed, who eventually took home the cup. But no, it was not to be, for youthful Adolf managed to get himself in the tournament. Well, he wasn't going to have any of it. The Jewish kid rushed into Hitler's tent and broke his knee. Yes, a violent offense for which he was expelled and marked off the books for - thus we don't know his name. But for this, Hitler was unable to compete as the challenge began in only a few minutes and vowed revenge in some way or other. This was a fairly reasonable thing to do of course, finding some way of revenge for ruining such a large chance in your life. So the psychology here isn't really too complex or bad.

However, let's think of the way he got revenge. He murdered millions of Jewish people, none of them even likely to be that Jewish kid as according to existing records, his family was actually from America, and all because of a lost chance in childhood. What is the point? Well, he managed to rally a large following in Germany and piece together the crumbled empire from World War I (some on that later) and put it together into a wonderfully functioning country. That is of course up until it was destroyed by the Allies. Nonetheless, Hitler managed to live out his dream of power and influence and above all, success, from childhood in this. And that is what made it worth it to him. Hitler, though he died defeated, really died successful.

So, possibly the most important part of this book. The implications and connections to the wizarding world. Well, Hitler in several instances nearly exposed magic to the Muggle world. The instances are small as was Hitler's ability and many fear that if Hitler's magical ability was much more, the world as we know it would be much more aware - and therefore restrictive - of magic.

But what else did Hitler do, really? Well, a fact that has been long and successfully covered up - no longer of course, as I write this - is that Hitler had many strong ties to the Council of Wizards of that day. In fact, a huge majority split off to become the European Union which was initially in favor of Hitler's reign - this is of course until Hitler began speaking out against the Jews and against the minorities and speaking for his master race (all things to cover up his insane hatred for the Jews) - but it was then too late. He already had too much power and influence.

However, few realize the implications of those Nazi ties to the Council. Hitler could have easily deposed those against him and replaced them with some more favorable with the support of a country behind him and him alone. And that he did. At that time, he controlled the official Council of Wizards. Of course, this is why we no longer have a "Council of Wizards" as it is. The Allies, as part of the wizard agreement to Germany, permanently did away with the council, in favor of many iterations of a new way of dealing with wizard matters until we came to our current order.

So, Hitler's influence was great and wide. And he may not have been justified in his actions, but he did them and is brilliant nonetheless. Hitler was a man of great power, but that power was not a good one but a terrifying one. Thank god we are free of him.
