Chapter 3: Hags, Banshees, & Gytrashes

Chapter 3
Now that we've completed the first 3 creatures, we are going to move on to slightly more dangerous ones. These are good examples of Dark creatures, because they all live in darkness. These are the hag, the banshee, and the gytrash.
If you are walking in the woods at night, be careful not to disturb a spirit known as the gytrash. It is shaped like a thin dog, and when angered, will turn solid and attack. The difficulty with these "dogs" is that their true form is that of a spirit and cannot be killed; it can only be repelled.
There is an easy method to repel a gytrash. Simply, cast the Wand-Lighting Charm, and it will disappear into the dark, where it thrives. Gytrashes usually travel in packs so if many of them subdue you, then cast a stronger lighting spell such as Lumos Maxima. ---------------------------------
Hags are equally as scary as the gytrash and equally as hazardous. Hags live in shadowy areas, mostly in towns or villages. Although they are classified as Beings, they have the mind of Beasts. The hag thrives by eating children and raw liver, and resembles a witch except pale, with sharp teeth and warts.
Because hags are considered beings, it is against the law to harm them. However, if a hag attacks you, you have a right to defend by any means. Be careful, though. Hags have rudimentary magic and can deflect some spells. ---------------------------------
Banshees are very frightening spirits that haunt places at night. Their most dangerous feature is their horrible voice. If someone hears a banshee's cry, they will die, immediately, mich compared to the Mandrake. They resemble ghastly shriveled women in ragged black cloaks. They reside in any dark place such as caves or alleys.
If you encounter a banshee, there are a few spells that defeat a banshee. But, as these are spirits like the gytrash, they cannot truly die. The Stunning Spell will work, but only for a few seconds. Any attempts with "Langlock" or the Tongue Tying Curse have proved ineffective. A strong Silencing Charm only lasts for an hour on a banshee. A good method is to combat a banshee with the Laughing Potion. Surprisingly, the laugh of a banshee is actually beneficial.
