Happy Hogwarts Holidays

Chapter 7
The Holidays were nearing. The Cold grey October turned to snowy December. Hagrid was pulling in the usual twelve Christmas trees. Professor Flitwick was waving his wand and golden baubles were coming out. The ceiling of the Great Hall was enchanted to look very snowy. Maya and I were now able to successfully silence Peter, which turned out to be a very good thing. Maya was leaving to go home and Peter and I were staying here. Maya said she would write and we obliged. Maya's parents were bakers and when she wrote to us from home, she delivered parcels of sweets. The first day of Holiday, I went to the Library. I stocked up on books about Arithmancy, Theories of Magic, and Even Quidditch Through the Ages. The Quidditch season was coming soon and I needed to be prepared. Peter had nothing better to do than follow me so he was on my trail for the rest of the day. I got a lot of comments from him like,
"Juniper there is two weeks until we have classes again. Ugh, why do you need to know the theory of Magical Property. You have already read Quidditch through the ages. Do want to play chess in the Common room. Not Chess, maybe Gobstones, what you don't want to get sprayed in the face, that is literally the whole point of Gobstones. Juniper, you need to have fun, it is the Holidays. Juniper, Get your face out of that book and do something."
"Reading is doing something. And for your information, I am studying for my O.W.L.S., I want to do my N.E.W.T.S. next year."
"O.W.L.S. are months away C'mon Juni. Please"
"Don't Call me Juni, an I'm a Prefect"
'I won't if you don't come out of the library, Prefect or not."
"Fine"
"Yes"
"Peter?"
"Yes"
"Can you help me carry these books" I say grinning.
"Okay" He says also grinning. Now, He turns his back on me and starts grabbing all the books I read
"Wingardium Leviosa" I whisper and then drop a small book on his head.
"Bloody Hell. What was that Juniper?" The I smile and say,
"I only need these three." I say. Peter rolls his eyes and I smile even bigger.
"Chess?" I ask.
"Chess" He confirms.

We sit in the common room and Play chess. It turns out Peter is actually pretty good at it. He ends up winning by putting my King in checkmate.
"So" He continues "What do you want to do now"
"I'd Fancy a visit to the Library" I say sarcastically. Then I say,
"Maybe the Great Hall" So, we walk down to the Great Hall and it turns out fine. There are jugs of Cider and Hot Cocoa and the Room smells of Pine needles. Professor McGonagall is talking to a Gryffindor student who seems to be asking about bewitched snowballs.
"Well funny you should ask, there were two students, twins in fact that once bewitched snowballs at a Professor. My, my those two always found trouble." Professor McGonagall says like she is glad those two students are gone. Finally, we ask her a question,
"Professor, I was wondering if we will be learning the Patronus Charm in Class."
"Well, it is a very difficult charm yes, only a few students would be able to produce it. You have learned a great deal about it and, well. It is important should you need it. Well, Miss Blackwell, Mister Adler I will think about. And, Miss Blackwell, there are a few Hufflepuffs having a little too much fun. Being a prefect, I would suggest that you uh, keep them in line."
"Certainly Professor, Thank you for telling me, I'll go do that" I say then walk off. Peter leans over and whispers
"You are a Teacher's pet you know" in my ear. I ignore him and walk towards the students. They are Throwing snowballs at each other. They seem to be first years. I say,
"I am sorry, but there is no snow allowed in the building you may proceed outside. Or I will take points from our House for Disrespect of the rules. Just a warning, alright take the snow outside, no matter how much fun it is." Then out of the corner of my eyes I see Peeves, looking mildly impressed at the student's nerve. Then, I add,
"And don't try to impress Peeves either. Scourgify" Then the snow on the ground is washed away and left with a clean floor. The students walk to the Courtyard, not wanting to lose House Points.
"I know you were put in Hufflepuff, But your a bit harsh. Don't threaten first years" Peter says.
"Shut up, and your not a Prefect so how would you know" I ask. He mutters something like
"Oh Juni" and I elbow him. Soon, we are laughing so hard it hurts and I don't care, Prefect or not.
