As Wise as a Hufflepuff

Juniper Is a student at Hogwarts. The years are flying by and the end of Hogwarts is getting nearer each day. From potions to the Quidditch cup to possible romances, Juniper spends every day doing something she will remember in hopes of being able to cherish the moments she has left.

The Quidditch Match
Chapter 12
The day was Sunny and clear. Cheering echoed through the air when Both Teams strode onto the Quidditch Pitch. Among the crowd, I saw Peter. He had repainted the banner to be a Badger slashing an Eagle. The space around me closed in. The chaos of the Field was getting to me. My breathing became faster. It will be okay. Then, another voice in my head told me, If you don't win the Ravenclaws will boast about if forever. I took slow, deep breaths. It will be okay. We lift off onto our brooms and the game begins. If there is something I remember about the Ravenclaw Quidditch team it is that the chasers are amazing. Which makes my job a lot harder. One of the Ravenclaw Chasers comes towards me and throws the ball. One, two three. And, I catch the Quaffle then throw it to Maya. From across the field I see Peter smiling at me. I can win for Hufflepuff, but I can also win for him. A bludgers flies towards me and I duck, which allows Ravenclaw to score.
"10 POINTS FOR RAVENCLAW!" James Phillips screams. But, Kaila is having none of it. She makes a swift dive and throws the ball to Dean who catches it and throws it through the Hoop.
"10 POINTS FOR HUFFLEPUFF!" Then, out of the corner of my eye I see flashes of Yellow and brown. I look to my left where a bludger is coming right for my head I duck as Annabelle and Alex fly over my head. The bludgers seem to be going for Thomas, our seeker. Annabelle is wrestling the ball and Alex has the bat. Thomas dives and swerves and the Bludger hits Kaila in the face. She falls to the ground and Alex looks horrorstruck. One of the Ravenclaw chasers comes towards me and throws the ball and
WHAM!
I am falling towards the ground. But no, I can't fall. So, I use all my strength and force my broom back up just in time to block Ravenclaw from scoring. I throw the ball as hard as I can and Maya catches it and throws it through the hoop. A large Cheer erupts from the stadium.
"TIE! BOTH RAVENCLAW AND HUFFLEPUFF AT 20 POINTS!" Phillips yells and the tension sets. Everyone is wondering the same thing. Who is going to catch the snitch first? Just in that moment I see a speck of gold fly by my ear and both Thomas and the Ravenclaw seeker follow behind. I am distracted and then
WHAM! The Quaffle zooms by and, no I don't think so I use my broom to knock it out of the hoop. Hufflepuff's cheers are so loud now they are all I can hear. Then I hear the Cheering become even louder until it seems to deafen me. All I know is that one mintute I see Thomas on his broom and the next, he is holding the snitch.
James Phillips Yells "HUFFLEPUFF WINS THE QUIDDITCH CUP!" And then I am so happy I feel tears pushing at my eyes. And when I see little Thomas, holding the Golden trophy I smile a huge, Wonderful, tear filled smile of absolute and definite joy.
Our team walks into the Locker room. Maya is also crying, as is Dean, who look like he could explode with joy. I keep my robes on and we walk towards Hogwarts. Maya walks towards me.
"You were amazing" she says.
"So were you" I say. She shakes her head
"No you I mean. I don't know how you find the time to play Quidditch. I mean, you are a Prefect, and you have almost all advanced classes."
"Oh Maya, stop being modest. You have almost advanced classes too." I say
"I know but you are a Prefect"
"Is telling first years not to go near Peeves really a hard task?" I ask, grinning. Maya laughs. Then she says,
"C'mon I bet there is a party in the Common room." It turns out there was. The team went to the lowest floor, tapped the password out on the barrel and climbed through the tunnel. There were so many Hufflepuffs in the Common room right now it was overwhelming. Someone had managed to get jugs of Pumpkin Juice from the Kitchens (Which were right next to us.) And then, there was Peter, standing amidst it all. He smiled when he saw me and showed his dimples. Oh, those dimples. And then, when I walked towards him to Hug him, he kissed me. A strong, determined and seemingly desperate kiss. It was my first kiss, and it electrified me to a Maximum level. It was a little hard to do, seeing as he was at least a head taller than me. But, I stood on my tip-toes and he leaned down. And oh, that was the best moment of my life. The way it sent tingles through my body, the way I was being sparked over and over again like a firework. I somehow managed to ignore the jealous looks from other girls. And when we stopped I looked over to see Maya grinning, not at all surprised. So I ask her,
"Why do you not look surprised?" Then, she smiles even wider.
"I saw the way you looked at his dimples since we were Third years. I saw the way your hugs lingered to long. I am not as oblivious as I may seem." She says. Now it is my turn to smile, if I had to produce the Patronus Charm, now would be the best moment.
