Mallory Elizabeth Hermione Scamander (b. 6 June, 2006) was a Norwegian wizard, and the current Leader of the Fantastic Beasts. She was born to Rolf and Luna Scamander, both Magizoologists, who would later give birth to Lorcan and Lysander Scamander. Soon after she turned nine, Goblins captured her from her home and took her to a cave, where they were later eaten by a Griffin. The Griffin, however was severely wounded by the Goblins' weapons and left to the back of the cave to die. Mallory, however, helped the Griffin, which led to it taking her to The Great Centaur, who would crown her Leader of the Fantastic Beasts. This meant that she would be responsible for taking care of an amulet, which could control all of the Beasts, if she so desired.

The Griffin took her home after about two years of her living with the Fantastic Beasts. She kept the amulet a secret from everyone, until her father pressed her for information about her absence, and so she told him about the experience, along with the amulet, as well as the Griffin (which she had named Byron).

On Mallory's eleventh birthday she got her acceptance letter to Hogwarts. On the train, she met Rose Granger-Weasley, who sat down in the same compartment due to the rest being full. With her came Albus Potter. Rose and Albus talked to each other the whole way to Hogwarts, while Mallory sat, reading through a book.

At Hogwarts, Mallory was instantly sorted into Gryffindor. She exceeded in all the classes, making it so that Rose HAD to notice that there was another student as good in school as her. This leads to her approaching Mallory and asking her how she is so good in classes, to which Mallory replies, "Photographic Memory." The two soon sit down and talk through the night.

For the second year at Hogwarts nothing exciting or new happened, just the same thing as the first year. Good grades, talking with Rose. Except for one thing: Quidditch! On the first tryout Rose and Mallory went out to try for two different things. Rose tried out for Chaser, and Mallory tried out for Seeker. Both got their roles, and with them on the team, Gryffindor won the House Cup!
