Albus traveled all around the world in his middle years and visited every country that had a strong wizarding population, and some that didn’t.

 By the time he became the Transfiguration professor at Hogwarts, he had five Masteries, could see the Thestrals, had an Order of Merlin, Third Class, was fluent in 8 languages, and was still off-again-on-again with his school sweetheart, Nike Ollivander.

 Nike was killed by Grindewald's followers before Albus could gather up his courage to ask her to marry him. Fifty years later, his Boggart still becomes her lifeless body.

 Defeating Grindewald brought Albus to the brink of death; his continued existence was a result of Nicholas giving him a dose of the Elixir.

The Elixir wore off years ago, but many people attribute Albus’s longevity to it. Albus attributes his longevity to an excess of candy.
