We Have A Funeral For Roweno.
Chapter 12
I started laughing. "We have to give Roweno a funeral."
I turned around and noticed Sarah and Lilac leaving so I waved to them. They waved back.
"Okay how do we have a funeral for a drowned animal?" Luke asked.
"The same way we have a funeral for a non-drowned animal?" I answered.
"I mean what do we put in the casket?"
"I dunno, flies?" Sam said.
"Um, okay....?" I said.
"I'll go gather them." he said and walked away trying to catch them in his hands.
"Okay, can I build the casket?" Luke asked.
"Sure, I'll go get flowers." I walked away.
I picked some cattails and calla lilies and came back. Sam came back with the flies and Luke finished the casket. We put the flies in the casket and the flowers on top of it. I slid the casket into the water.
"Sam, do you want to say some words?"
"Alrighty." he thought for a moment. "This is for Roweno. You had a short life, actually you never really had a life but this funeral is for you. You were a great Lochstrich, peace out." he raised his hand in a salute. Luke and I did the same.
