Magical Mercury - Log Book Of A Different Holiday
In 2075, the Wizarding World, with the help of an ingenious muggleborn Rune Master, scientist and engineer, was able to create a permanent base on Mercury. The mission was two-fold: testing and hopefully finding traces of magic outside of our planet, and to fund the base and research by allowing civilians to visit Mercury. In 2082, Cynthia Cousland realized one of her dreams by being one of those civilians taking a holiday on Mercury. Follow her as she embarked on this 7-day adventure.

Chapter 4
Today we
went to a place called the Highlands of Mercury which are actually smooth
plains. Like the name suggest the smooth plains are actually widespread flat
area that seem to fill craters. Something about possible volcanic activity
caused by meteor impacts. Doesn’t matter. The important thing here is that they
are actually flat, totally flat. Like the prairies in central Canada. Where the
intercrater plains of yesterday where softly rolling, the smooth plains
actually present a flat line, until your sight hit the side a crater that is.
Where yesterday’s walk brought peace to my mind and magic, today’s made me reflect
on the sheer vastness of the cosmos (the endless black sky didn’t help, even
with the sun in it) and our own insignificance compared to it. This trip is
proving to be more introspective in nature than I thought possible.
