The softening charm as a spell that softens it okay area or object, making it bubbly and bouncy. This charm when performed on the mat will allow person to jump higher then she or he would normally jump. Should be noted that said the wizard or which should be ready to jump in a certain area before actually jumping. Otherwise, said jumping could result in injury to himself or herself. Some believe that this spell worked by partially transfiguring the target into a sponge, but has not been proven. Professor McGonagall describes students using the spell on “floor tiles” to “create makeshift trampolines.”
