Potions Class
Chapter 6
A few nights passed since the duel. I can remember it all. I just don't remember how I got to the wing. I walked down the hall, to Potions class. Everyone just looked at me as I passed them. I just kept walking to the class. "Why is everyone staring at me." I kept thinking. I opened the door to the Potions class and I took my seat.
"Today we are going to learn about the fundamentals of Amortentia." I slumped in my chair, and grabbed the parchment and quill that I set on the floor.
"Amortentia is a potion that creates an extreme feeling of lust, desire, and infatuation. Amortentia is the strongest love potion in the world. Remember, this is not an actual love potion. If you remember, in your first year of Transfiguration - Gamps Law; Love can not be obtained via Magic. Amortentia can cause a severe infatuation with someone, and even obsession. The Witch or Wizard who uses the potion for their own use, has to be administered continuously or the affects will wear off."
I never understood the whole purpose of making someone fall for you. This potion has been talked about before, I just never understood the entire reasoning behind it.
"Mr. Yerger" I heard, as my heart dropped. "Could you please tell us what three fragrances you smell the most in Amortentia?" Professor Cauldwell asked. I stood up as I walked to the front of the room where the potion sat in its cauldron. I took a small smell of it, the first - "Oak." I waited for the next smell to come along - "Fresh cut grass" and as the third smell came along - "Rain." I turned around as the teacher told the class that there are three-four smells that each Wizard/Witch will smell. "Some students will smell that smell of the person they are meant to be with, some will smell things that they have always loved."
I never really knew what Oak smelled like until just then. I sat back down in my seat, and continued to think of the smells in my head. I knew that they smelled magnificent. I wanted to smell them again.
I opened the door to the Potions class. I continued to smell the aroma of Oak all the way until I got to the Courtyard, where I saw Theo. You could barely tell - but his wand was made of Oak.
