The Cave

Chapter 16

I stood behind the door frame, with my back against the wall. They couldn't see me. I would poke my head around the side to make sure they weren't hurting him. Even if he wasn't mine, I wouldn't care, I needed him to be safe.

I heard a man rummaging around the closet in the room, it seemed to be their apothecary. "Go bring the truth serum to the other one. Make sure you find out what we need... then get rid of him. I'll deal with this one." I didn't know what to do. I panicked. I kept looking around, I couldn't think straight. I was going to die. I stood behind the already open door, and watched as the brutish man walked past me. I watched him walk down the hallway, and into the room I was in. I had to make a move now.

I walked down the hallway, where the floor was surely going to break underneath me at any moment. They would creak at the most random moments. I made my way to the door, and the man was standing there. I quietly made my way behind him. I watched him look under the table to see if I was there. As he turned around slowly, I kicked him in the face with all my might.

I watched him fall to the ground bleeding. He hit his head on a metal rod that was connected to the table. He blacked out. I pointed my wand at him, I could kill him. I could get rid of him now. But I'm not a killer. But he was going to kill me... I pointed my wand at him, "Obliviate." I saw his eyes turn white, then turn back to the green that they were. He closed his eyes again. I knew that it successfully worked. I grabbed the Veritaserum and put it in my pocket. I held my wand closely to me, and peeked around the side of the door again.

No one. It was quiet. I think that Madison took Theo somewhere safe, away from me. I walked down into the room Theo was sitting in. There was a small puddle of blood. And I knew, at that moment, I wouldn't rest until I got to Theo.

I sat on the beach, I didn't know what to do. I didn't know who to go see. I just didn't know what I should do. I was frustrated. How could they do this to me? To him... To us? I was so pissed, I was throwing rocks into the ocean. I saw a small cave near the side of the beach. It looked eerie. I doubt that they would bring Theo there, but it's worth a shot. I could try and see if he's there.

I stood up and dusted my clothes off. The sand was always my favorite part about going to the beach. I loved the calming waters, but I love the sand. The way it feels. I took one look at the cave, and I started walking. I watched my feet, they were tired, but I knew I had to find him. I got closer to the cave, and it felt like it was pushing me away. I kept thinking of thousands of reasons to turn around, He's not in there. There's nothing in there. My mind kept racing at a thousand miles an hour, trying to get me away from the cave. I stopped dead in my place, "No." I said. "I am going in that cave." I repeated multiple times. I stood in front of the cave, and it was painful. It hurt everywhere in my body, my spine was on fire.
I took one step into the cave, and the burning sensation went away. I took a huge sigh of relief. The cave was completely dark, the point of darkness where it drove me almost mad. I pulled my wand out, and created a brightly lit light. I saw markings on the cave wall. It was a bunch of symbols with people on it.
The first one was a series of men and women around a campfire. They were holding hands. The second was a man coming out of the fire. He was tall. The man in the fire was the most defined thing in the cave. I looked at the third one, all of the men and women were bowing down to him. The last he walked away, leaving his followers where they were.
This must have been them. I heard footsteps, and pointed my wand towards the end of the cave. "Calm down young Wizard," I heard. It was a woman standing at the end of my wand. "Don't worry. I am not here to hurt you, I am going to help." I pointed my wand downwards "Alright. Go on." She stepped backwards, "I know what you're looking for. You're looking for answers. Who they are. What they want." She took a big sigh, "Well. Roughly 30 years ago, a group of Witches and Wizards summoned a creature... An entity. Someone who could take the shape and face of whatever it wanted. It was to leave them, and come back. The Witches and Wizards in the group would then devote their life to taking over the Wizarding World, and then taking over the entire world. The group was called Olnvnelu." I looked at her, I don't know if I could trust her. But I would have to take her word for it.
I looked at her, "Do you know where they would be?" I said. She smiled, "Now, now. I don't think that it's wise to go chasing after them. They are very powerful dark wizards." She said. I knew I had to say something, "They took something that I need... I can't live without it.. Please just tell me where it is." She turned around, and started pulling something out. It was long and ripped up. She opened it up, she beckoned for me to point my wand at it. I pointed it at the map. Everything started to appear out of no where.
There was a mountain with an X a quarter of the size of the map. I grabbed the map, "May I?" I said. She nodded, "Thank you so much." I said.
I walked out of the cave, and I turned around, and the woman was still standing there, she was looking at the cave paintings.
I  pulled out the map, the X was a few miles ahead. I knew I could save time, so I apparated a mile-or so down the way. I knew I was advanced at apparating. I loved the fact that my apparation trail was Grey, not black or white. I kept walking, and noticed that it was going to get dark soon, so I had to hurry. I started running, then walking. I kept on apparating every time I had a chance. I was getting closer to the X from my calculations.
I saw a huge patch of dirt, that had dead trees around it. The trees looked like they have been poisoned. I knew this is where it is. Dark magic always makes living plants around it die. I couldn't see anything clearly, but there was a small moving creature. It was Theo. He was limping. I ran towards him quickly. I grabbed onto him. He looked at me, "Hey you. Long time no see." I pulled him up, "Look at me.. Look at me in the eyes." He looked at me, and I knew it was him, those big brown eyes that often made me feel safe, were there looking right at my eyes. "You have beautiful eyes" Theo said. I smiled, "C'mon let's get you out of here." I heard people coming back to the campsite,
"NO. GET HIM." I heard Madison say. "YOU LEFT HIM ALONE."
I smiled and waved as we apparated away.
