I followed Madison as she was walking through the forest. She seemed to know where she was going. We stepped around a bunch of rocks the size of a human. We made our way into a pit, that was surrounded by trees as tall as the sky it seemed. I've been this way before, but I never had a certain place to go. I would go here to get lost, when Hogwarts seemed overwhelming. 

There was a small pond in the distance, that had the glow of the moon on it. I peered into it and saw my reflection. I still had dry blood on my face. "What exactly is your plan now?" I said. Madison stopped a few feet in front of me, and turned around. "There's someone you need to meet" she said. I had the most puzzled look on my face, "Is she working for someone" I said in my head. 

We made our way down a series of trees that covered the night sky, so everything was black. I pulled out my wand, "Lumos." We eventually found our way out of the forest, and into an area that seemed to be older than Hogwarts. It was an ancient ruin. We walked inside of the collapsed stone. "Stand here" she said. I stepped away from the center. "No. You need to tell me what's going on now. And I will go with you. Until then I won't go anywhere with you." She took her hands away from the pillar and looked at me. "Excuse me? What makes you think you can question me." She chuckled as she said that. "This is why I hate Gryffindors. Exact reason I left Hogwarts, and became a dark witch." 

She left Hogwarts. She left. She didn't leave... she got kicked out. "Why did you leave " I said. She looked to be in her early 20's, so there is no way she could have done anything seriously bad. She was here when I was. "It's none of your business why I left." She started looking angered, and held her wand in her hand. "If you just tell me -- it would make me want to come with you a bit more." I said. She sighed with a sound of annoyance. "You may remember. I think you were in your fourth year when this happened. I was supposed to graduate with Theo. We were friends at Hogwarts. Not just friends, probably the closest friends can get. He told me he would be there for me. One day, I was attacked by a group of Gryffindors. They kept making fun of me. Eventually, they started casting hex's at me. Theo wasn't around for me. He WASN'T THERE." She had her wand in her hand. 

"I didn't have just friendship feelings for Theo. I felt more than a friend. He never felt the same way -- I see why now. But he led me to believe there was more to us." She looked at me. "You're the reason things got so messed up. Without you, him and I would be closer, l.. like we used to be." We made a circle around the pillar, because there was no need to fight her. She was hurt by what happened. "And you expect me to just stop being with Theo? We're not even a couple. We just noticed our feelings for each other." Madison stopped. "Theo never has feelings for ANYONE. For him to have feelings for anyone, is something else. You'll realize soon enough HOW serious it will be." 

She smiled at me, and walked towards me. "But that won't happen, now will it? You're going to end up dead. And I will make sure Theo sees who he truly loves." I knew he would never love her. "So we're fighting over a guy?" I said. "Fighting means that there is a fifty percent chance that you will win. This isn't fighting. I will win." 

She stepped away from me. And proceeded to walk backwards still looking at me and smiling. She held her wand out. She shot a spell out of her wand that I knew was only meant to kill. I jumped behind the center of the pillar in the middle. Chunks of the pillar fell off of it, and almost landed on me. I grasped my wand firmly. I shot spells back at her. One hit her in the arm. "Oh. Little lion come to fight?" I stepped away from the middle. "At least I'm not trying to make someone fall in love with me." I shouted back. 

We both shot spells at each other while moving around. She shot a spell with a spectral glow. It hit my leg, and left a huge gash in it. I screamed. Not a loud scream, but one that she knew she had me. I dropped my wand, and I fell to the ground. I looked at the woman who I presumed to be the end of me. She held her wand at me. I knew I wasn't ready to die. I WON'T DIE. I kept thinking to myself, "Don't die. Find something. Do Something. ANYTHING. I REFUSE to die." She got closer to me, and held it close to my throat. "You thought you could fight me? And win." She snickered. I kept edging myself backwards. She grabbed my hair and pulled me upwards. "DO NOT TRY AND LEAVE WHILE I AM TALKING TO YOU." I took one deep breath, and kicked the crap out of her stomach. She fell to the ground. 

I got up, and found my wand over by one of the trees that grew from the middle of the ruin itself. We both got up at the same time. We shot spells simultaneously at each other. I felt her power rival mine. I felt the power surging through her body to her wand. My will was still as strong as it could ever be. We were sending sparks of colors at each other. I felt my power growing stronger, and hers growing weaker. She knew it too. 

"JOHN." I heard a shout. It was Jachelle. I looked over at her. And then it hit me. Her spell hit me in the stomach. 

I fell to the ground. I felt my body turn to ice. I saw as the students ran up to me. And then I saw Headmaster Novellus standing there blocking the students away from getting closer to me. All of the students looked at the same area, they were looking at Theo. 

Theo ran over to my side. Headmaster Novellus looked over at Theo, and then looked at Professor Alan. Professor Alan grabbed Headmaster Novellus and took him to the side. I could see whispering. 

"How could you do this to me John. I can't watch you die. I won't let it happen." 

I smiled, and pulled him in closer. "You will be okay" I whispered. I looked at him in his eyes, and I kept a smile. 

I felt my body slowly slipping away. I couldn't feel anything in my body anymore. As I was laying in a pool of my blood. Theo was kneeling next to me cry. I saw as my friends all standing around crying. I took one deep breath. I remembered a poem. It was going through my head. 

"Never fear. 

Never fret. 

I will be by your side, 

I will destroy your pain

I will watch you grow, 

and I will fill your heart with no sorrow."

 I closed my eyes. And I heard nothing. 

Everything rushed through my head at once. From the first memory, to the last one. I never saw any bad memories. I saw Theo standing in the distance. He was sitting on a bench by himself. I walked over to him, and he looked over at me. He never said a word, but I knew he was in pain. The look in his eyes. 

I sat down next to him. And rested my head on his lap. I heard his heart beating. I heard him crying. I closed my eyes, and proceeded to open them. I saw Theo carrying me back through the forest. I wasn't dead. I opened my mouth. But I couldn't speak.
