A Stack of Parchment
Chapter 4
I fell in love with a stack of parchment
With beautiful tattoos of ink
Hundreds of pages glued together
It was my missing link
I fell in love with some words on paper
It had an old and dry feel
The words connected it all together
And the cover was its seal
I fell in love with every paragraph
Every chapter which I saw
The story with its colour
The emotions felt so raw
I stayed in love when it was over
The words I had read through
They still warmed my sobbing heart
And I stayed it true
I’m still in love with the parchment
And the tattooed words on white
Even though we’re not together anymore
I’ll use it as my light
There is a monster in every book
It’s hiding as a friend
It’s not the one slain by the hero
It’s the blank page at the end
