James Potter

Chapter 2

James Potter is a pure blood and
also an outstanding student at Hogwarts. He was a popular student and had won
the hearts of many. However, during his first years he was so proud and also
because of that he was arrogant and used to pick on students. And, this was
portrayed many times when he picked on Severus Snape. He always wanted to go
out with the gorgeous Lily Evans. However, his arrogance and pride stood as a
barrier. Fortunately, in the end he was able to put all of them aside and he
ended up being the head prefect at Hogwarts and also he won the heart of Lily
Evans. They later ended up marrying and they had a son: Harry Potter: The boy
who changed everything.

They were so incredible and
talented. Although Lily Evans was not of magical origin, both of them were
asked by Voldemort to join his army against the muggles. However, they refused.
This is when the hatred began between them and the Dark Lord. The major blow
occurred when a prophecy came out telling that Harry Potter will be the one to
defeat the Dark Lord once and for all.

They first entered the battle by
joining the original Order of the Phoenix. James Potter was an incredible
member in the order. He fought many battles and he also saved many lives. His
heroic nature can also be seen even before he joined the order, when he saved
Severus Snape by getting attacked by the Whomping Willow. It is though unclear
whether he actually wanted to save him, or whether he just wanted to save his
friend's secret; Remus Lupin being a werewolf. However, he could have just let
him get attacked. Because, it would keep Snape away from getting to the
shrieking shack, and in another point of view, Snape would just leave him alone
after all. Because whenever he tries to get closer to James he ends up getting
hurt. But, he even put his life in danger in trying to save his worst
enemy.

He also stood up to his friends
and was loyal to them. He trusted them with all his heart, and in the end this
cost his life. His best friends at Hogwarts were Remus Lupin, Sirius Black, and
Peter Pettigrew. They were not as rich as James. It somehow didn't matter to
him. It was their personalities and their characters that mattered. When Lupin
transformed himself into a werewolf and when he first found out, he decided to
help his friend and not abandon him. This is the best quality of being a good
friend. Lupin has gone from a normal teenage boy to someone who was entirely
different. He was basically an outcast even in the magic world. However, James
helped him to co-op up with it and to get himself together. Moreover in later
stages he didn't have the need to get a job because he was left with an immense
wealth from his family. So, he decided to share it with his friends because
they were not as rich as they were.

The next main point of bravery is
when he defended his wife and son against the Dark Lord. When the dark lord
came to his house he was playing and was getting along happy with his family.
When the Dark Lord came he acted so quickly. The first thing he did was to send
his wife and son to safety. Then he went in front to face Voldemort. He didn't even
have a wand in his hand. He was completely and utterly defenseless. However,
all he wanted was to give some time for Lily and Harry to get into safety. He
knew he was going to die and that there was no way of surviving, unless a great
miracle happened. Ultimately, he did the ultimate sacrifice to save his family.
He died in protecting his family. All he had in mind and all he was praying for
was the safety of those others around him. He proved to be the greatest father
and the husband in the world. He transformed himself from the arrogant rich boy
to the loving savior.

His bravery later helped Harry to
get himself together and to defeat the dark lord. Harry looked up to him. Harry
always sought their help when he was in distress and it was James's words that
kept him in balance. This tells on how great of a father and a role-model he
is. His eyes were so full of kindness and passion. When Harry was in distress
he knew the right worlds to speak, and was with Harry when he went to encounter
the dark lord for the last time. He was such a hero in Harry's life that Harry
always seek up to him in his troubled times. Everyone speaks great of him even
after all those years of his departure. He has made heroic impression on
everyone.

There’re other numerous times
that he has even helped them. Not through actions, but through words. When Lily
was upset about the rude comments that she got from Snape, James was kind
enough to offer her soothing words. This was not due to the attraction he had
towards her. This is simply an act of generosity and help. He has helped other
numerous kids to come through many difficulties and has even encouraged and
motivated them to come in the path of good and to succeed in their studies.
Even at times Snape was moved in his generosity. He was an exceptionally good
student at Potions. He wanted to help other students, to teach them what he
knows best. However, he couldn’t get that grip and courage. James’s courage,
generosity and his good deeds and intentions helped him to get a lot of good
friends, who later sacrificed their lives to save his son. That’s how much of
an influence James had on them. They felt that they owed it to him for getting
them off of their misery.

However, his over-generosity made
some of his friends to take advantage of him, and his true good actions and faithfulness
made him blind on grasping to what’s really happening. This is what happened
with Peter Pettigrew. Peter back stabbed James by letting the Dark Lord enter
the Potters’ house. He was selected as the secret keeper; however Pettigrew let
the Dark Lord in despite all the help that he got from James.
