Finding Energy
Chapter 1
Energy is debatably the most precious resource found in Hogwarts Mystery. It's required for just about everything, yet it takes either a lot of time or money to get it. You receive only one energy every four minutes until your bar is full. You can alternatively buy energy for diamonds (don't worry, energy you buy can overfill your bar). Either way, getting free, immediate energy is a must. I've found a total of 10 energy spots (excluding pets), and now I'll share the locations of it with you.
East Towers ~ 2 Energy
The first energy can be collected by tapping the painting immediately to the right of where your character stands. When you are able to collect energy, the painting will be dark blue with no subject. Tap it, and a flower girl dressed in white will appear. You will receive one energy, but you won't be able to collect more from the painting until it is empty again.
The second energy can be found further down the hallway. Near the Divination classroom, you will see Peeves the Poltergeist. (Peeves is the floating man dressed in orange.) Tap Peeves, and he will disappear while you receive one energy. Everytime he is there, you will be able to collect energy.
West Towers ~ 1 Energy
The only energy that can be collected from this floor is from a painting located between the Gryffindor Common Room and the Prefects Bathroom. When energy is able to be collected, the painting will appear to be only a tree branch with white blossoms. When you tap it, in addition to receiving an energy, and hand will place three oranges in the tree. When the oranges are gone, the energy can be collected again.
Lower Floor - West ~ 2 Energy
Both energy spots are located immediately to the right of the Great Hall. The first energy can be collected from the second pedestal decorated with owls. When it holds no fire, tap it to ignite it and receive an energy. It can be recollected once the fire is out again.
The second energy spot is next to that. You'll see a row of three nights. The middle knight has a sword in his area, but he is not holding it. Similarly, the last night has a shield that he is not holding. Tap on either of the knights. The knights will switch equipment, and the middle knight will hold the shield and the last knight is will hold the sword. Once the knights reset, you'll be able to collect the energy again.
Dungeons ~ 1 Energy
The energy located in the dungeons can be found near the Kitchens. In the foreground of the corridor leading back to the Kitchens, you'll see a house elf sleeping against the wall. Tap him. He'll scurry away but leave you with one energy. When he returns, the energy can be collected again.
Castle Grounds ~ 1 Energy
The only energy located on the castle grounds can be found in the foreground of the path that leads back to Hagrid's Hut. On the path is a brown stick. When you tap it, a puppy Fang will run out and take it down the trail. You'll receive one energy, and once the stick returns you can collect more.
Lower Floor - East ~ 1 Energy
Between the Library and the History of Magic Classroom sits a bench littered with open books. Tap the bench, and the books will magically stack into one pile, and you'll receive one energy. When the bench is messy again, you can collect another energy.
Hogsmeade ~ 1 Energy
In the alleyway of the Three Broomsticks and Honeydukes, you'll see a boy. He'll be near the top of the hill waving at you and holding a sled. Tap him, and he'll sled down the alleyway, and you'll get an energy. When he returns, you can recollect the energy.
Forbidden Forest ~ 1 Energy
To the left of the Spider's Lair, you'll see a huge spider's web in the foreground. It should be twitching. (I assume it's meant to look like there's a breeze blowing it, but it hardly looks like that). Anyway, tap it to harvest one energy. The web will fall away and reappear instantly, but it won't be twitching this time. Once it becomes animated again, you can recollect the energy.
Pets - Up to 4 Energy
You can collect energy from all the pets you own. When you can collect energy from a pet, they will be asleep and become highlighted in blue. All your pets can be viewed in your Dormitory (located in your Common Room), and you can collect energy from them there. You can also carry one pet with you and collect energy from that pet without visiting your Dormitory.
Each energy will reset after a couple of hours. However, they are not in sync. I haven't figured out how long each takes to reset, but when collecting energy, visit every floor and check all the energy spots. I've noticed that the knights seem to take the longest to reset, and the painting with oranges takes the least amount of time to reset. Also, don't collect any free energy if your bar is full because it will not give you the additional energy and it will not allow you to collect from that energy spot again until it resets in a few hours.
