Potions 101: Lesson 1: Notes From A Gryffindor

Chapter 1

"A POTION IS A MIXTURE OR COMPUND WITH MAGICAL PROPERTIES"

    • Mixture=Physical combination where each ingredient retains their own properties
    • Compound=A chemical combination where the properties of the ingredients are changed                                                               
    • Antidote=Anything that counteracts or reverses negative effects upon the body
    • Cure=The end of a disease or condition through the use of a remedy                
    • Poison=Anything that causes or enhances negative effects upon the body         
    • Solution=A homogenous mixture where a solute has been dissolved in a solvent
    • Homogenous Mixture=A mixture that is composed of only one phase              
    • Solute=The substance being added by solvent
