Okay so hippogriffs according to the ministry of magic are beasts. Like dangerous but if they atttack it is all the person fault most of the time. That was Hagrid first lesson to his first class with Harry Potter in it. Their is a herd of hippogrifffs kept at Hogwarts. Aprently in the hippogriffs name hippo in Greece is suppose to mean horse.
