Harry's mom and dad died instead of him was because, when Voldemort try to kill Harry, Harry's mom is so fat that she got killed! And when she was falling down, she fell on her husband and kill him! Voldemort thought he killed the whole entire family so he left and is why Harry didn't die and was able to save the world from being destroyed by Voldemort.
