When the great Queen, Archdruidess Ayani, saw the ill fate that befell the land, she wept for days. Where trees and lush land had once been, a dry and barren landscape had moved in. This devestating sight was caused by the distruction of a powerful evil artifact. Little did everyone know of the price that had to be paid.

As she cried, a great lake formed. Trees and grass began to grow. When her tears had subsided, a paradise had sprouted. Releshing the return of life to the land, she rushed back to the caves below to gather her druids. As she and her druids went to work, the other survivors went about creating a town.

When Ayani returned, after a month away from her people, a small city had taken residence around the lake that became known as "The Lake of Tears". In the middle of the lake, the Queen planted a seed. For ten days and ten nights she sang to the seed, lacing it with magic and love. On the eleventh day, a towering tree, higher than the nearby mountains, loomed over the lake. A door, six men high and five across, was embedded at its southern most point. As the citizens of The Sanctuary, for that was the name of their new home, came to see the feat of their Queen.

It became the Royal Palace, and from it, Ayani ruled her people. It became the becon for those who were returning to land.
