Explanations
Chapter 1
Explanations. Everyone looks for them. The simple explanation of where? who? when? the more complicated explantations of why? how? Everyone asks questions. Whether they voice them or not is another matter. Whether they acknowledge their wonderings or not is an entirely different conversations. But everyone asks. Everyone wants answers. Answers for how? How can I possibly do this? Answers for when? When will it get better? Answers for who? Who hurt you? Answers for where? Where does is hurt the most? Answers for why? Why does it hurt so much?
But we also want explanations for things that bring us joy, and happiness. Where do you want to go? Who's coming over today? When can you catch up? Why is everything so glittery? How can someone even laugh that much?
There are so many explanations we look for. And we search, and we search for the answers. Whether it takes years, years to finally find out who you are, or just a simple questions, why is the sky blue? Everyone asks questions, and everyone wants explanations. And I sit here, writing as I have done so many times before and I wonder, I wonder how many questions people ask a day. Sometimes I wonder why I was born. Sometimes I wonder how we developed language. Sometimes I wonder what I'm going to write next. There are endless questions, and endless explanations. And these are two of the few things that truly are infinite. We will never stop asking, never stop wondering. And this isn't a bad thing, or a good thing. It's just a thing. A thing that will never stop, because we are naturally curious. Whether we voice it or not. Whether we ask or not. We all have questions. We all have answers.
These stories came about in many different ways, and I hope that I'll keep adding to this collection for a very long time to come. Many of these stories were written in particularly dark times, as I often turn to writing when things get hard, and I find it's not such a bad way to spend the time. However, as many of these stories have been born in darkness, the topics in them can be very dark. There are trigger warning at the beginning of each story, and no, I don't mean to ruin it, but I know that certain topics can be extremely triggering and I don't want anyone to be hurt. Most of the situations my characters find themselves in, I have never been in. Some are similar.
Each story has a meaning. Each story had a story of it's own when I wrote it. And I would love to share these meanings, because I think that it's always nice to see people's interpretations of writing, so please, send me an owl or post on my wall if you like anything here, if anything has a particular meaning to you.
Constructive criticism is always welcome! I must say though, the majority of the stories that are here right now were written last year in a particularly painful period of time, so the flow may be a bit choppy. I've done my best to re-edit them all while still keeping with the original feel, but most of it all has been kept in the edited form of back then.
I don't pretend to be an expert in writing, I'm rather the opposite. I write a fair bit, but my works are by no means incredibly good, but I thought that someone, somewhere may like them, so here they are.
I hope you enjoy!
