The Unforgivable Curses
Chapter 3
Avada Kedavra
Incantation: a-VAH-dah ke-DAH-vra
Hand Movement: Sharp, the shape of a lightning.
Light: Green
Type: Curse
Ah, the killing curse! There's no counter for this curse, and no spell can block it. You could, of course, block it with an obstacle. The spell is very illegal, and if you use it you've just awarded yourself a trip to Azkaban.
Cruciatus Curse
Incantation: KROO-see-oh
Hand Movement: Point wand
Light: Red or none
Type: Curse
The Cruciatus Curse is the ultimate torture device. Use this and your victim will experience unberable pain. Only a person without a conscience and with a wicked mind can use this spell effectively. It is, of course, very illegal and will also award you a trip to Azkaban. Did I mention that there is no spell to block the Cruciatus spell?
Imperius Curse
Incantation: im-PEER-ee-oh
Hand Movement: Point wand
Light: None
Type: Curse
The Imperius Curse offers you complete control of your victim. The curse cannot be blocked by another spell: but sheer will can resist it. Victims of a weak mind, however, are easy targets. Again, using this spell is very illegal and if you do: expect to spend the next couple of years in Azkaban.
