~PROLOGUE~
Chapter 2
A black she-cat stared down at the shining lake at her paws. The moonlight was glistening on it, making it appear as if a cat from StarClan was staring right at her. The she-cat knew what kind of lake this was. It was the Moonpool, where medicine cats and their apprentices went to visit StarClan. Tonight the she-cat decided not to bring her apprentice, as this was something for her alone. She closed her eyes and touched her nose to the Moonpool, slightly wincing at the cold feeling that felt like snow and ice. Right when she opened her eyes, there were cats surrounding her, just like a nine lives ceremony for a deputy-turned-leader. "Welcome to StarClan, Breezetail." Said one of the StarClan cats. Breezetail recognized the mottled golden-brown tom. It was her mentor Frecklepelt that had died from a sickness caused by old age. Breezetail dipped her head, waiting for the words the former medicine cat had to say. "What do you cats need to tell me?" She asked, looking at all the cats. It had been a quarter-moon since she had visited the Moonpool last, and she felt awful for staying away from StarClan for so long. "We are here to deliver a prophecy." Frecklepelt answered. "It involves one of your Clan's apprentices." Breezetail nodded, opening up her tufted ears to listen. Frecklepelt padded towards her, sitting down once he was a fox-length from her. "A drop of hazel shall fill the sky, and shall replenish the flood of darkness." He meowed, and backed away. Breezetail instantly knew which cat he was talking about. She didn't want to tell her, though. It would be a better idea for the cat to figure out the meaning of the prophecy herself. Opening her eyes, Breezetail lifted her nose from the Moonpool and padded back to camp, slipping into the medicine den without being seen.
