Today I was doing some research and came across something interesting. 35 years before I was born, my mother had been a student as well as a assistant here at Hogwart's. She had been a promising student in herbology, potion making and transfiguration. She has been able to craft 5th year potions at only second year with flawless perfection. She also helped tend to the greenhouse during her free time as well as assist in keeping inventory for the professors of herbology and potion making. 

Nobody has suspected she had been tapping the supplies and working on something secret. She had been working on a potion that would aid in transfiguring someone into that of a insect so they could spy on others. The professor of Potions noticed some of their ingredients missing. Supposedly Essence of newt, hair of a giant arachnid, and everything to make a clairvoyance potion. So when asked about it, she said last she had seen everything was there but she was later caught taking these as well as leaves of mandrake and wolfs bane root. Due to these actions she was expelled from Hogwarts and banned from using magic.

Later I learned she had been using the potions and transfiguration spells to steal secrets about the professors and had spent time in prison for her crimes against the school.  Some of the things from the potions was likely to have passed on to a child due to it having altered her DNA in some way. So it seems I would be that child.
