“Just wanted to make sure you were okay Kassie.” Jax pushes her hair out of her own face, glancing at the door she sighs.
“I Wonder if Ace is home yet.” Kassie mutters sleepily.
“Unlikely..” Jax says, as a loud clap of thunder shakes the house.
“I’m scared!” Kassie says, starting to cry. Jax sighs, pulling Kassie into a tight hug, gently moving Kassie’s blonde hair off to the side.
“It’s okay, just a storm.”
“I know, but it’s still scary.” She gave a final sob before stopping, finally falling asleep on her sisters chest, lulled to sleep by her breathing. Jax smiles, gently rocking her. After a little, she gently sits her sister head on the pillow, pulling the blanket over her sister’s shoulders.
Kassie stirs, but doesn’t wake up. Jax smiles lightly, before standing up and pulling her fluffy gray blanket, heading out of the room. She huffs, sitting in her brothers room, in front of the only fireplace in the house. She reaches her hand in a turns the knob to the gas. It roars to life, making her jump slightly. Jax sighs, determined to stay up till her brother got home. She yawns, resting her head in her hands. Her eyelids droop, before shutting.

Someone sits behind Jax, lightly wrapping her in a hug. She jolts awake, her stomach had dropped when the person first touched her. She quickly looks behind her and lets out a sigh of relief when she see her brother. “What the hell are you doing?” She asks, holding back a laugh.
“Hugging my sister.” He respond, before moving to the left side of her.
“Huh. Didn’t know you did that.”
“Only when I want to.”
“Ah.” She says, then sighs. “You need to stay home tomorrow. Everyone misses you. And I’m not sure if Kas remembers the last time we hung out with you. Ace, you’re always gone!”
“It’s not like I have a choice. No one else in this family can work. And we need a home.”
“We also need a family Ace. Without you gone 24/7.”
