Chapter 2
The flower bed
As the road fell past I felt that I would never arrive. For the dust surrounded me like a blanket and pulled the air from my lungs. But I pushed my pony onwards through this dirt trail. As noon fell past I decided that I would stop for lunch, for the dust was scratchy and the air was hot. When I arrived at a river I let the pony graze and looked at my futile supplies. Now as things seemed to fail and that there was no way out I went and got my map so that I could check how far I was from The Shire. When I was content with lunch and my direction I sang an old travelers song.
As the road pasts me
I feel so free!
As though evil could never find me.
So here I race in haste
Never to see hate
And to always celebrate.
After I was done I started back up on my journey. Which led me to the edge of The Lonely Mountain where I was to deliver a message to Hrethgar, King under the Mountain. But as I rode to the fine gates of Dale I felt sorrow attack my soul and wish to go no further. So from there I lodged at The Dancing Widow. Where the innkeeper greeted me with a fine drink of elven wine. After a drink and a laugh with some old bard's, I went to my room for a nights sleep. Wishing that tomorrow will not bring such a sorrowful journey. At this I pray for my master Frodo, as my name is Sam Gangee.
