Chapter 3
“SuperNova, come downstairs, now!” Her dad had to be one of her favorite humans in the world, besides her friends of course. When her dad used that tone though he meant business. She hopped out of the loft… climbed down the ladder… and hurried into the kitchen to see what her dad wanted. Her father however was not angry. He was petting Jellybean who was almost asleep and laying on his lap. Her mom was a crazy cat lady in the same way she was a crazy horse lady. They had five kittens, Jellybean, Ozzy, Gumdrop, Nutmeg, and Zorro. She only had one horse, but someday she would have hundreds… more like ten…
Drifting out of her thoughts she realised that her dad was talking to her. She caught the words “So, what do you think?” “Could you repeat that” she stuttered. He sighed. “SuperNova you need to pay attention. I feel like a broken record.” She mumbled a sorry and he repeated what he said. “You got an email from Naomi. She invited you to her place for the afternoon.” She asked to see the email. It sucked not owning her own phone. The email read
Tomorrow afternoon Ruby and Caroline are coming over. We will ride horses and probably make some wolf chow. Hope you can make it. P.S. you can borrow one of my horses or use Spirit. Whichever you prefer is fine by me. -Naomi
She immediately typed back
I’m definitely coming. Wolf chow sounds great. I will obviously bring Spirit, see you soon! -Nova... Spirit was the best horse in the entire world. He was a wild stallion and was hard to control, but she thought he was amazing. Her dad called him a challenge, but she always loved a challenge. Today however she was going to a horse show. Her mom had bought the filly for her birthday, so she wasn’t getting bid on. They were just going to pick her up. She already had the perfect name. Texas Rose. Then she was off.
The horse auction was crazy. Her mom had found a cat and started petting it. It was part of a shop selling cats. She walked on, looking for the stables. When she found it, she successfully located her horse and showed the owner her certificate of ownership. Then she lead Texas Rose away. She found her way back to the cat shop and set a ten dollar bill on the counter. The lady looked confused but her mom and her walked away. When they got back to the car, she put Texas Rose in the horse trailer and got into the car next to mom. Out of her hoodie pocket popped the smallest kitten she had ever seen… She snapped a pic. And sent Naomi
“The newest addition to our family…” -Nova
