Chapter 6- General Information about Quidditch Players
Chapter 6
Let’s start out with the keeper. It's the keepers job to protect the goal hoops of their own team and ensure that the quaffle doesn't go through. keepers used to be allowed to fly anywhere and they could score goals. Nowadays, keepers stay within scoring areas. They need to be fast and have great reflexes! They need to pay attention!
The beaters are responsible for defending other players from the bludgers using clubs. They will need strength and good broom skills so they can use their hands at the same time.
The chasers are the next position we will discuss today. The chasers are responsible for scoring. They need to have good aim and good throwing skills while also being good on their brooms.
Finally, the seeker! The seeker is responsible for attempting to catch the snitch before the other team does. The seekers are usually the best fliers on the field as they have to be fast and turn well. They are often the targets of attacks and injuries and often are the ones that get fouls. This is because of their importance to the game.
Play-Along Activity: Decide which position you think you would Not be good at. Then imagine that you had been given that position on the team. What would you do in order to train so that you can be better at that position? You can write in a list or in paragragraph form and it can be a story if you would like.
