Chapter 13- The Seeker

Chapter 13
The seekers main job is to catch the snitch. Catching it earns 150 points for that searchers team. It also ends the game and most of the time, the team that catches the snitch wins.

The only reason why it wouldn't win them the game is if the other team has more than 150 points already. Not only does this always end the game but the seeker catching the snitch is the ONLY way the game can end unless one team gives up!

Seekers were originally called hunters but the position of searcher was the last one that was added to the game. It was added in 1269 which is the same time that the snitch was added to the game. Refer back to the chapter on the snitch for more information about this. The reason it was called the hunter is because the snitch came from the sport of snidget hunting.

Seekers are light and fast and have to have good eyesight and be able to fly without their hands. Its thought of as a glamorous position on the team since their job is so crucial. Because of their importance, however, they are also often fouled and targeted.
