Tense

Alyssa-Jane Malfoy never asked to live this life, the life of a girl from a family of Slytherins to be born into Ravenclaw. She never asked for the glares that people sent her in the hallways or the way no one spoke to her unless they had to and even then it was rare. But one day in her 3rd year it all changes with new boy, Jackson Ross.

Meeting Jackson and Professors

Chapter 7
Alyssa-Jane's POV

As I was walking out of my favourite corner I accidentally bumped into someone who was unmistakably Jackson Ross. "Oh i'm so sorry..." I apologised, quickly.
"Oh its no problem really," He said, nodding kindly, "Your in my Potions class, aren't you?"
"Yes.. yes I am," I said, feeling quite surprised that he remembered me from Potions class and then it dawned on me. I hadn't shown up at any of my detentions.
"I'm really sorry but I have go to go!" I said, "Perhaps we will see each other again another time."
"Yes maybe we will," He replied, quietly.

Jackson's POV

I watched her leave until she disappeared from my sight. In my mind she was practically the only ray of sunshine surrounded by complete and utter darkness. Especially when I was near Willow and Paisley even though they were both sweet and meant for the best they could often scare you and they were also excellent at many different Charms which meant that they could hex you whenever you turned your back on them.

Alyssa-Jane's POV

I rushed to professor Baines office down in the dungeons. I knocked on the door slowly and quietly.
"Yes?" asked the Professor.
"I wanted to apologise for not showing up at any of my detentions..." I said, quietly and awkwardly. I was staring down at my feet so I couldn't quite see her reaction.
"That is quite alright Miss Malfoy but next time please try to remember about your detentions and not forget about them," She said politely yet strictly, "And tell me when you want to reschedule your detention for we cannot go without it but we can certainly make an arrangement for the time." Then she closed the door behind her as she went back into her office leaving me standing out in the cold of the dungeons.
"That went much better than I had anticipated," I muttered quietly as I was shocked that the punishment wasn't going to be worse. Deciding that I definitely didn't want to be in the cold of the dungeons for much longer than I needed to I walked back to the common room.
As I walked into the room I saw people scowling at me from every place in the room. I knew that this was often normal for myself but it seemed strangely worse than usual.
I hurried my walk into my dorm, sat down on my bed and yanked the curtains that hang around my bed closed. I let my head collapse down onto my pillow and stared at the curtains that were draped around my four poster bed. The curtains were made out of bronze silk and dotted with midnight blue specks. The curtains glimmered so brightly making everything around them seem dull in comparison.
It was often those kinds of things that helped me forget about everything that was bothering me. It let me get away from the real world that seemed more painful than the cruciatus curse was to even the most sensitive people.
