The pet shop doorbell rang as the witch walked in, muttering to the cats. "You're very pretty today! You'll certainly get taken home" She smiled, purring at the felines. She filled each feed bowl with the odd spelling pebbles and then moved to the frogs. "I've got some yummy treat for you, today!" She grinned as threw the small insects into the cage. She moved on, feeding all of the animals until the whole building was filled with ribbits, purrs, hoots, and squeaks. He couldn't stand the racket. He was still young, and he needed his sleep. The doorbell rang again as the first customer entered. "Hello! I'm interested in adopting a pet, what do you think would be best for me?" The strange wizard questioned. "Well! Tell me about yaself!" The witch smiled. "Well, I was thinking about something with low maintenance, but I don't want it to be just a pet, I want it to have some sort of use." The wizard looked at her hopefully. "It sounds to me that ya needa owl." She walked to the owl cages and looked down the line of the animals. "The rest is up to ya!" The witch looked at the owls sadly like she always did when one was about to leave her. The wizard looked closely at each owl, eventually laying eyes on the young one who was barely old enough to fly. The youngling gazed at him hopefully, until the wizard switched to an older one further down the line. "I'll take that one." He said simply, without looking twice. The youngling lowered his gaze, disappointment pricking in his wings. The wizard paid and left, taking the owl with him. The witch stared sadly after it. The doorbell again rang as young wizard walked in. In fact, he couldn't have been out of Hogwarts for more than two years. His gazed immediately met the youngling's. "Ring that one up for me" He said clearly. The youngling shifted his feet excitedly. He had been born in this very cage and had never been out of it, and now he was going to leave, and never come back. He flew out of the cage as the small door opened and landed on his new owners shoulder. The excitement was overwhelming, but this was only the beginning.
