Piper was just an ordinary girl....or at least that is what she liked to think. She had no parents, they had died in a car wreck, and she was raised by her big brother. Nearly 23 years older than her, her older brother was more like a parent than a big brother. What happens when Harry comes into the mix? This is Piper Lupin's unusual 1st year at Hogwarts.(I don't own Harry Potter. Rights go to J.K rowling.)

Chapter 5
Piper's Pov
"So now he wants to kill me too." Harry concluded. "Bloody! Really, Mate?" Ron asked. Harry just nodded in return. Hermione looked shell shocked. She opened her mouth to say something, but was cut off when the lights shut off and everything grew cold. "Ouch Ron, that was my foot!" Hermione cried, and a hooded figure came into the compartment. Everything then went black. I heard screaming....a woman? "John...John..No!.... Ahhhh!...Oh sweet Piper, be safe and no that we love you with all our hearts! I'm so sorry baby!" And then silence. Dreadful silence. I open my eyes to see Harry looking woozy and eating chocolate, and Ron, Hermione, and Remy hovering over me. "Oh, Pippy...are you okay? Here, have a piece of chocolate." Remy offered. Ron asked him, "Your Professor R.J Lupin, right?" "Why, yes." Remus replied. "Why did you just call her Pippy?" Ron asked suspiciously. "Oh, guys, this is my big brother, Remus, but I call him Remy." I say nonchalantly. "WHAT?!?!" Ron and Harry bellowed together. "Yeah!" I say. They stare at me incredelously. "What?" I ask. "He produced a patronus and scared away the dementor!" Ron says."Oh, Wow!" I say, complementing Remy. "We should get changed." Hermione says, pulling me out of our compartment. "He is the new DADA professor!" she says. "Yeah, he is!" I reply, not getting her point. "That is a big deal at Hogwarts!"she exclaimed. I shrugged, and changed the subject. "Let's just go change." I say, and walk the bathrooms at the end of the train. When we finished, we went back to our compartment and the boys were changed.
The train stopped and I got off. I saw a big, tall man with hair all over his body was shouting, "Firs' Yers'! Firs' Yers'! ", and herded me into a small boat. "BYE PIPER!!" I hear voices yell. I look back and see Ginny, Hermione, Harry, and Ron all waving and smiling at me. We ride in a boat up to the castle and walk in. The castle is so....magical! I see a stern looking professor staring at the group of first years. I see a girl with blonde hair and brown hair, and I smile at her. She comes over to where I am, as the Professor, now known to us as Professor McGonnagal, says the sorting will commence in a few moments. "Hi, I'm Ruth Clearwater, what's yours?" the blonde girl asked me. "I'm Piper Lupin!" I say. "Students, the sorting will now commence."
