Werewolf's Sister
written by Hayley Solace
Piper was just an ordinary girl....or at least that is what she liked to think. She had no parents, they had died in a car wreck, and she was raised by her big brother. Nearly 23 years older than her, her older brother was more like a parent than a big brother. What happens when Harry comes into the mix? This is Piper Lupin's unusual 1st year at Hogwarts.(I don't own Harry Potter. Rights go to J.K rowling.)

Nox
Chapter 3
Piper and Remus walked through Diagon Alley, and a shop caught Piper's eye. The sign above it read: 'Magical Menangerie', and Piper quickly asked, "Can we go in there? Please?" Remus smiled at her and responded, "Of course, you need a pet to take with you, right?" So, they walked in, and saw many different types and species of animals. Once Piper saw the kneazle kittens, she cooed around them, and one kitten came over to her. The kitten had soft, white fur and icy blue eyes. The beautiful kitten licked her face, and she knew it was the one. "Um, sir," she asked the shopkeeper, "how many knuts is this kitten?" The shopkeeper came over to her, and inspected her. He looked up and down on her, and his face broke into a warm smile. "You like nice, and you have a good soul, so she's on the house." he said. This made Piper thoroughly confused. 'My soul? How did he know what my soul looks like? That was creepy!'she thought. Remus thanked the man, and they walked out together. "What are you going to name her?" Remus asked her as they walked to The Leaky Cauldron. "Um, I think I am going to name her Nox." she said thoughtfully. "Why Nox?" Remus asked. "Because, she is white, and Nox is the spell for distinguishing a light, right? And, if Nox means diminishing light, it was obviously illuminated earlier. This kitten has illuminated my day, and Lumos is too cliche." She said. Remus looked at her, his expression awed. "Wow, that's really intelligent." he complimented. Piper blushed. "Thanks." she said. "Mum and Dad would be proud." he said quietly. Her vision blurred as tears formed in my eyes. "Really?" she asked. "Yeah. They loved you a lot, you know." he told her. "I miss them. Why did they have to die?" Piper asked tearfully. "Everyone has to die at some point. It is just life. But, as Albus Dumbledore says, Pity the living, and above all, people who live without love." Remus said wisely. "I love you big brother." Piper said softly. He pulled her into a hug. "I love you too, Pippy." he told her gently, before locking arms with her and apparating home.
